Recovered plane debris flown to France for checks

Image result for Recovered plane debris flown to France for checksPlane debris which washed up on the Indian Ocean island of Reunion and is thought to belong to the vanished Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was flown to France on Friday for checks officials hope could provide some insight into the disaster.
Discovery of the debris, which may finally confirm the plane crashed into the sea after veering off course from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers and crew, could help end 16 months of lingering uncertainty for relatives.
Aviation lawyers said it had also rekindled efforts by family members of passengers to seek greater compensation if the part is deemed to have belonged to MH370, aviation lawyers said.
Experts hope the barnacled 2-2.5 meters (6.5-8 feet) long wing surface known as a flaperon and a fragment of luggage could yield forensic clues to the fate of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which vanished without trace in March 2014.

Mozilla CEO blasts Microsoft over Windows 10 defaults

Image result for Mozilla CEO blasts Microsoft over Windows 10 defaultsMozilla CEO Chris Beard has blasted Microsoft in a pair of posts to the organization’s blog, arguing that Windows 10’s default browser settings are a “dramatic step backwards” for respecting user choice.
When people update their devices to Microsoft’s new operating system, their default browsers are automatically changed to Microsoft Edge, the successor to Internet Explorer that’s included with Windows 10. People who had a different default browser then have to go into Windows 10’s settings menu and change the default from there.
In an open letter to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Beard said that’s no good, since doing so from Firefox requires three or four mouse clicks (roughly twice as many as before) and scrolling to the bottom of a seven-item list. In a blog post accompanying the letter, the Mozilla CEO said it was “bewildering” that Microsoft made that choice, especially after the company’s antitrust troubles.
“The upgrade process now appears to be purposefully designed to throw away the choices its customers have made about the Internet experience they want, and replace it with the Internet experience Microsoft wants them to have,” he wrote.
