My Near Crash Experience With Arik Air Yesterday

Image result for My Near Crash Experience With Arik Air Yesterday'I'm very sad as I recount this story, why is it that no media house or even bloggers carried the news about the near crash of an Arik Air plane heading to Johannesburg from Lagos (which I thank God, we all on board escaped unhurt) and the ill treatment that Arik officials gave we passengers especially the unprofessional attitude and treatment by the Duty Manager.

Here is my story, I booked an Arik air flight heading to Johannesburg, South Africa from Lagos with flight number W3103. The flight was slated for 1.30 pm on the 24th of November 2015. I got to the airport around 11 am on this fateful day so I can check in and all that, now a flight that was slated for 1.30 pm after the normal Arik unexplained delay finally took off around 2.30 pm. On take-off, two birds mysteriously flew into the right engine causing the engine to shut down and two tyres getting busted, which forced the pilot to crash land. I thank God that no one on board was hurt but we all sure suffered emotional trauma. Trust me. Especially when the pilot told us how lucky we all were because he had excess fuel on the plane that would have easily triggered an explosion.

Woman takes housemaid to salon to fan her

A Nigerian woman has been fingered in the case of a modern day slavery after she took her young housemaid with her to a salon and made the poor girl fan her for more than two hours.

The person who caught the high and mighty madam, Fransesca Joseph-Esenwa, even took a video of the disgraceful act.

"I witnessed this modern day slavery today at a nail salon. This woman who arrived in a jeep, came with this girl who looked rather unkempt and had her fan her for over 2 hours.
I watched helplessly and prayed for life to be able to add value for my children. If she can use her as a mobile fan for over 2 hours in public, you can then imagine what she uses her for behind closed doors.
No help for this children as we watch them being abused; no school.
Still hurt by this.

Smugglers flood Nigerian markets with expired rice

Image result for Smugglers flood Nigerian markets with expired riceImage result for Smugglers flood Nigerian markets with expired riceSMUGGLERS seem to have taken over the Nigerian rice market, flooding the country with toxic and expired products. Reports of hundreds of trailers crossing the porous borders of the country are becoming worrisome in recent weeks, endangering government’s plans to achieve self-sufficiency in rice production.
Consequently, stakeholders have urged the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to curb smuggling while calling on NAFDAC to take urgent action by inspecting rice stored at several locations across the country. Supply of expired and poisonous rice to unsuspecting consumers could rapidly develop into a major health disaster if left unchecked. The group asked the attention of the Presidency and concerned departments so that corrective action could be taken immediately.
