But the ever vigilant workers responded quickly and killed it.

Police Arrest Man For Marrying Wife Without Parents’ Permission (photo)

 Policemen attached to the Dolphin Police Division in Ikoyi have arrested a 30-year-old man, Ugo Madugba, for marrying his 28-year-old wife without the express approval of her parents.

Madugba’s wife, Nono Orji, who is a medical doctor, said in a Facebook post on Thursday that there were plans by the police to poison her husband.

 A 32-year-old driver, Mohammed Abdullahi, has been arrested by operatives of X- Squad, Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly impersonating an Air Force officer.

Another man, Suleiman Abdullahi was yesterday arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly impersonating a military officer.

Abdullahi was arrested by Air Force personnel who saw him wearing the uniform and performing like an officer.
The personnel handed him over to the police.

Abdullahi, who was paraded yesterday, said he got the uniform from his friend, Haruna Ali, an army personnel, adding: “We met at Agege on January 17 and he handed the cloth to me to keep for his younger brother whom he said passed out in 2014 but has not got uniform. I am not air force personnel; I am a driver; my route is Kano to Lagos, Mile 2 to Kaduna and vice versa. I used to drive my brother’s bus but he sold it and travelled abroad for greener pasture.

Abacha Loot: Switzerland Returns $723 Million To Nigeria In 10 Years

The Swiss government has confirmed that it has so far returned $723 million (about N142.43 billion) of stolen funds ceased from the family of the late former head of state, Sani Abacha, to the Nigerian government over the last 10 years.
The amount excludes $321million (about N63.24 billion) which the Swiss authorities recently said recently it was planning to repatriate to Nigeria.
These details are contained in the agreement signed on March 8, 2016 in Abuja by representatives of the Swiss Federal Council and the Nigerian government.

Switzerland Gives Nigeria Conditions For Returning $321m Abacha Loot

Switzerland has given conditions for repatriating $321m looted fund to Nigeria.

Part of the conditions is that the fund will be used for projects that will benefit Nigerians and they (the projects) must be monitored by the World Bank.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama said that the government was working on the modalities for the repatriation.

Blackout, fuel crisis loom as workers shut down NNPC over unbundling

Nigeria is on the verge of another fuel crisis and a nationwide blackout  of unimaginable proportion as workers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Wednesday, shut down the activities of the corporation nationwide over the ‎unbundling exercise.
The workers, under the aegis of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), said they were not consulted before decisions of the unbundling exercise were taken‎, hence, it is unacceptable to them.

Some of the workers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, chided the Federal Government, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu and the mana‎gement of the NNPC for taking such decision which concerns and affect the future of the workers  without due consultations.
In Abuja, the workers were seen standing around th‎e headquarters of the NNPC, holding discussions in small groups.

Abducted Benue girl regains freedom; reunites with family

Patience Paul after she was freedThe Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has made good his promise to make sure the 15-year-old Benue State born girl, Patience Paul, who was allegedly abducted by two men,  identified as Monde and Suleiman, and forcefully converted to Islam and given in marriage, is freed and reunited with her family.

Shortly after the abduction saga of Ese Oruru was brought to a close, a lawyer and human rights activist, Tsembelee Daniel Sorkaa, brought the case of Paul to limelight, leading to Tambuwal setting up a probe panel to uncover the truth and return the girl to her family.

Kenyan woman sets husband, children on fire (Video)

A Kenyan woman, Mary Kabura, committed an atrocious crime by locking up her husband, Samuel Kimani, and their children inside the room and setting them on fire in the Mumbi Estate in Murang'a County of that country on Sunday, March 6, reports NTV News.

 
In the end, the husband was burnt beyond recognition while the innocent children were lucky as they were rescued alive by neighbours.
According to the report, Kabura sprayed her sleeping husband with kerosene, shut him in the bedroom and lit him up before dashing out into hiding as the fire consumed him.

In the latest attack, Fulani herdsmen rode a helicopter and opened fire on the Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, which lasted for several days. The armed attack left between 100 and 300 mostly Christian farmers dead and at least six villages completely destroyed, according to the Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW).

ABUJA—Police authorities in Abuja yesterday night said Ese Oruru, freed Monday, will now be officially handed over to her mother, Mrs. Oruru, today.
14 years old Ese Rita Oruru was brought to Police headquarters at Louis Edet House at about 12. 55pm amid tight police protection.
Her dad, Mr Charles Oruru, however disclosed that he has concluded plans to seek spiritual assistance from Lagos cleric, Pastor T.B. Joshua, founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

A 19-year-old National Diploma, ND, student of Otefe Polytechnic, Oghara, Delta State, Esther Oteri, is battling for survival at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH, after an armed robber damaged her face with bullets during operation.
