4 robbery suspects killed in shootout with police in Warri

Four suspected armed robbers have been gunned down in a shootout with operatives of the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force, “A” Division in Warri South Local Government Area, on Monday, September 26.Some Nigerian Police officers

The suspects were gunned down in the incident which took place around the popular Ekpen, near Okere market roundabout at about 3pm in Warri.
One of the suspected armed robbers killed in the shootout has been identified as Ovie who many believe to spearhead kidnapping, rape, armed robbery.

Police rescue abducted corps member

The victim identified as Helen (surname withheld) was abducted after unknown gunmen stormed the residence at about 3am on Friday, September 23, taking her away in an unmarked car.
Pandamonium was unleashed in the community as panic reigned among the corps members. The security group for the community immediately joined forces with the police to search for the victim.

12-yr-old girl dies after falling into pit toilet

Image for the news resultA 12-year-old girl has been reported dead after she fell into a pit toilet in Asin-Ekiti, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

According to a witness, Mrs Ruth Bamidele, the victim, Blessing was running errands for her parents on Monday, September 19 when the sad incident occurred.
Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, September 22, Bamidele said Blessing mistakenly stepped on the weak concrete covering the pit and fell inside it, with nobody close by to help.

3-yr-old boy dies after consuming caustic soda at school

A three-year-old kindergarten pupil, Darasimi Ogunwunmi, has died from complications resulting from consumption of caustic soda at his school, Fahsal Children’s School, Ilupeju Estate, Idiroko, Ogun State.

The incident, which occurred in November 2015, saw Ogunwunmi's health deteriorate rapidly.
According to many reports, the pupil was unable to feed properly as he was unable to swallow liquid substances during the period of his ill-health.

Woman arrested for dumping 1-day-old baby

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested by the police for abandoning her one-day-old baby on the street.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni, confirmed the arrest on Thursday, September 15.
 
The suspect identified as Ifunayan Eme, who is an indigene of Enugu State,  was arrested on Tuesday, September 13, during the Eid-el-Kabir holiday.

Man abandons wife in hospital over N520,000 unpaid bill

A mother-of-seven has been abandoned by her husband at the New Mayor Hospital and Fertility Centre, Nkpor in Anambra state over the N520,000.

Mrs. Uzoamaka Onu, 39, has reportedly stayed in the hospital for four months over the non-payment of her bill.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria, Uzoamaka, who is a food vendor and from Okpoto community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi, said her husband has abandoned her to her fate, as every attempt to reach him has failed.

The incident which happened on Sunday, August 28, 2016, left the victim in a deplorable state, with an unstoppable bleeding in her body.
She was discovered by one of her brothers, who joined a search for her after she was perceived to be in danger.

'I don't know why I killed her' - House guard confesses

The 22-year-old suspect who stabbed his boss four times in the stomach, ransacked her home and made away with three phones, clothes and jewels, escaped to Bali, Taraba State, where officers of the Lagos State police force, apprehended him.
While being paraded at the Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, Tanko confessed that he had no reason to kill his boss.
He admitted to stabbing the deceased with scissors and a knife he used in cutting flowers around the compound.
He said, “I was employed in August 2016; I had not yet stayed up to a month when the incident happened. She agreed to pay me N18,000 at the end of the month.
“On that Wednesday, she had asked me to cut the flowers. When I was done, I went inside my room. There were only three of us in the apartment.
“She called me and I went inside the sitting room. I was with the knife and the scissors I had just used to cut the flowers.

Female kidnapper nabbed while attempting to abduct two siblings

A woman has been apprehended by residents living around Ojuwoye Market, in the Mushin area of Lagos State following attempts to abduct two siblings.

 
The suspect whose identity is yet to be revealed reportedly attempted to kidnap the siblings from their mother's shop at the market on Saturday, September 3, 2016.
The mother of the kids identified as Modinat who is a trader in the market disclosed that she had laid her children, Hammed, 6, and Farida Rasheed, 2, on the floor of her shop and was attending to a customer when the suspect carried them away, PUNCH Metro reports.

Man sets in-laws on fire after wife divorces him


A 37-year old man has been alleged to have set the home of his in-laws on fire, killing his mother-in-law and brother-in-law.

The incident reportedly took place at Isampou in Ekeremor LGA in Bayelsa State on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
The suspect is reported to have committed the dastardly act because his wife divorced him. His brother-in-law who sustained first degree burns in the accident later died at the hospital.
