Soldier brutalizes 'bloody civilian'

A Nigerian soldier brutalising a young manDespite calls by human rights activists for the military and paramilitary bodies in Nigeria to respect the rights of the ordinary citizens, some law enforcement agents still take the laws into their hands and maltreat those the call 'bloody civilians'.
An eye witness posted these disturbing photos of a soldier dishing out a dehumanizing punishment to a young Nigeria at the Oshodi area of Lagos over an alleged crime the young man committed.
This is not the first time military officers would treat civilians in such humiliating manner, in spite of cries for them to be more civil in dealing with members of the society.
In January this year, some Nigerian soldiers in Calabar, Cross River State, took the laws into their hand and dehumanized a young man accused of stealing.

Also in March, some soldiers attached to the OP MESA, a military security outfit in Lagos, took the laws into their hands when they descended on a 57-year-old tricycle (popularly called 'Keke Marwa', ) rider, Sunday Akomolafe, at the Ahmadiyya park, when the man, a member of the Nigerian Legion, refused to give them a bribe of N250.
