How British granny found out her Kenyan Internet lover had 47 women

A 61-year-old British grandmother, Judith Stillwell, must have thought she had finally found the man of her life when she met and fell in love with Ovi Elias, a Kenyan Internet fraudster.

So much was she in love with him that she rushed into a wedding with the scammer, only to realise that the serial lover had over 47 women he met on the Internet and travelled all over the world to be with them and fleece them of their hard earned money.

It only dawned on Stillwell that she was dealing with a careful scam master after he had cleared several thousands of pounds off her.

Stillwell, a former teacher, told Daily mail that she met Elias on a dating website in 2009, and he told her he lived in London and she thought she had met her soul-mate.

After a period of dating, they decided to meet in person, began a relationship and got married three years later, in 2012, after which Elias moved into Stillwell’s home in Ashington, West Sussex.

But she later discovered that her husband, who made frequent trips abroad for what he claimed was ‘urgent business’ in Dubai, Kenya, America and other places, had 47 other lovers across the world.

“I handed my Kenyan husband £25,000, then found he’d got 47 other women across the world.

While I believed him when he said he was flying to Dubai to do property deals, I have now discovered he was actually flying all over the world meeting other women who funded his lifestyle, just like me.

I thought we had a genuine relationship and I’d met my soul mate. But the reality is Ovi – or Steve as he was also known – seems to be making a good living out of women like me.

He meets them on a website, says he is in love and then after coming out with various sob stories, gets them to pay for his bed, board, and travel.

After our wedding, I paid for us to visit his relatives in Kenya for a blessing, staying in one cramped room with other relatives.

I was so moved by the dilapidated state of the house his father lived in, I paid out thousands to have water and electric showers connected plus other essential repairs.”

The retired teacher further narrated that how she got to realise that her supposed husband was a serial cheat, when she was updating her computer and found out Elias had not closed his emails down properly.

"Going through the mails, she found a list of 47 women, dotted around the world. She went ahead and contacted some of them and they all told her how they met Elias on the Internet, became lovers and got married.

“Apparently he met them all on dating websites and using the story about a property in Dubai, got them to pay his air fares all around the world.

My only hope is telling my story to warns other women to beware.”
