Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly one of the leading candidates to coach Spanish giant Real Madrid, according to the BBC.Current Los Blancos coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly set to leave the club following a trophyless season. Benitez is reportedly in talks with Madrid over the job but no agreement has yet been reached.
Benitez is currently the coach of Napoli, with his contract at the Italian side expiring this month.
The Spaniard started his coaching career with Real Madrid's B side and has also managed Valladolid, Osasuna, Extremadura and Tenerife. Benitez won the Spanish league title twice with Valencia before taking over at Liverpool, where he won the Champions League in his first season in charge.
After five years with the Merseyside club he had a brief spell at Inter Milan before another brief stint in England with Chelsea where he led them Europa League success.
With Napoli, Benitez has won the Coppa Italia.
