The court heard that Bango of Gokwe, threw the little Tanaka Simbaza into a well, where she drowned.
The child's body was found floating in the well four days later.
According to the police investigation, Bango killed her daughter in order to please her boyfriend, who had promised to marry her if she got rid of her children.
Bango took her daughter to the well, threw her into it and went home as if nothing had happened. When asked by the residents of the village where her child was, Bango lied, saying that she is staying with relatives
