Corps members flee ahead of elections

Lagos - Certain members of the National Youth Service Corps who are Independent National Electoral Commission ad hoc staf in Akwa Ibom State have fled the state ahead of the elections.

The leader of the group stated that many of their members had come under attack following the unavailability of sensitive materials in polling units.
The group also added that members who had been trained by INEC and used in the presidential and national assembly elections had all fled the state.
Several death threats have been made against the group by individuals who didn't believe that INEC failed to provide the sensitive materials, instead that the group were looking to auction off the materials to political parties.
