Pauline Cafferkey, 39 (left and centre), was among dozens of volunteers working in Sierra Leone. The NHS nurse was diagnosed with Ebola on Monday, making her the first person to test positively for the virus on British soil. She was flown from Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow to the Royal Free Hospital in north London earlier this week, where she has been receiving treatment in an isolation unit. After showing initial signs of improvement however, the hospital today revealed the nurse's condition had 'deteriorated'. It comes as a second person was reported to have shown symptoms of the virus in Swindon, Wiltshire.
