Four out of five members of the Electoral Appeals Committee upheld the September 30 election, leaving only one (the chairman) Okey Ajunwa calling for a fresh election.
The reports were forwarded to FIFA to take a decision, and the world football governing body has given green light to the elected board led by Pinnick.
“We note the majority decision of the Electoral Appeals Committee to uphold in their entirety the results of the NFF elective congress held in Warri on September 30, 2014.” FIFA said in a letter forwarded to News24 Nigeria by the media officer of the NFF Ademola Olajire.
“We are therefore pleased to be able to start working with the new office-bearers headed by the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick. We will contact you in the coming days to organize an introductory meeting between Mr Pinnick and the FIFA President in Zurich.”
It is now hoped that the crisis rocking the NFF administration has come to an end, at least for the next four years
