A woman was seen desperately trying to sell her daughter in order to help her sick husband, who was in a hospital

Ni Qiong tries to sell her baby 

The woman has been found trying to sell her baby daughter on the streets of China, to pay $10,000 in medical bills.

Ni Qiong was photographed in Fuzhou, with a written notice, begging pedestrians to buy her one-year-old daughter.

She and her husband, Zhou Xinggui, are immigrant workers. Her husband was taken to the hospital for surgery after falling from a scaffold while working as a builder.

Doctors refused to perform the much needed surgery until the couple paid a $15,000 fee. With no assets to her name and no way to come up with the money, the mother of three children decided to sell her youngest daughter.


Despite remaining in the street for four hours, no one wanted to buy her daughter, but passersby gave her money.

The woman reportedly received over $200,000 in donations and donated about $90,000 to poor people and organizations that help the less fortunate.
