Man rips out man’s heart and eats it to prove that he is not gay

A man was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after ripping out a man’s heart and eating it to prove that he is not gay, prosecutors in South Africa said.

35-year-old Andrew Chimboza of Gugulethu, has appeared in the Athlone Magistrate's Court in Cape Town, and apologized to the family of his victim.

He admitted that his actions were wrong.

Chimboza, who runs a window tinting shop, pleaded guilty to murder in connection with the killing of 62-year-old Mbuyiselo Manona.

Chimboza told investigators that he ripped out the heart of Manona and ate it to prove that he is not gay. Manona allegedly called the defendant a homophobic slur before the violent attack.

Chimboza said that Manona was jealous of him, believing that he was sleeping with his girlfriend. Police officers who arrived at the scene, witnessed the defendant eating the victim’s heart.

Chimboza faces life in prison after pleading guilty to murder.
