After being in the car for many hours, the children - ages 2, 5, and 7, - finally walked into the store to look for their parents.
Staff at the Walmart superstore found the children at 2:00 a.m., and called police.
Video surveillance of the store shows the mother, Tosheba Hope, 30, and her boyfriend, Gerald Moultrie, 24, entering the store before 7:00 p.m.
They took $660.20 worth of car parts and tools. The couple was arrested after they tried to leave without paying.
Both parents were originally charged with shoplifting. However, they now face charges of child neglect. Hope, who told the judge that she is pregnant, was released on her own recognizance.
Her three children were placed in the care of family members.
