Buhari ‘escapes’ mob at praying ground

President Buhari recounted his experience earlier in the day when the security cordon around him was nearly breached by some youths, who were desperate to catch a glimpse of him at the prayer ground located on the Airport Road during the Eid-el-Fitri prayers.
“I was advised to enter the vehicle from the ADC side and I refused”.
The president admitted that the heavy security around him is not capable of protecting him, adding that only God can protect him from being harmed. I went across and tried raise my hands to the youths who wanted to see me.
“On an occasion like this, it shows that after what happened to President Ronald Reagan of the US, it is only God Almighty that protects leaders because in a mob like this, anybody with a sharp knife can get access and do a lot of damage”.
“All the Policemen and the soldiers that were deployed since six in the morning before I came out two hours later in the rains can not protect you”.
The forum resolved that during the historic meeting between Buhari and President Barack Obama, in addition to other members of both administrations, Buhari should remain “resolute” and continue to “refuse to pander to global conspiracy on the flagrant removal of subsidy, as proposed by Tony Blair and the global Monetary agencies”.
The permanent secretary later presented a giant greeting auto, a photo frame and a mat designed in the national colours as Sallah gifts to the president.
He also shared the feelings of those who think he should be working faster, urging them alongside all Nigerians to trust that his commitment to real and positive change in the nation is as firm as ever.
However, he believes that now more than ever “our country needs greater self-denial, sacrifice and patriotism from all of its citizens” if the country is to quickly recover from its numerous problems and start moving in a positive direction.
“The business of government as Mr President has said so often is the protection of lives and property and to give everybody a good opportunity to live in a way that they wish and to worship God in the way that they wish”.
