How top PR executive, Alima Atta died of cancer

One of Nigeria’s notable PR firms, Sesema PR has announced the death of the company’s Managing Director, Alima Atta.
According to an official statement by the firm issued on Sunday, Alima, who founded Sesema PR 13 years ago, passed on in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer.
Sesema Public Relations is sad to announce the passing of our Managing Director, Alima Atta. She passed on in the early hours of Saturday 6th of June, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer.
We would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to her mother, sisters, brother, nephews and nieces,’ a statement signed by Tampiri Irimagha – Akemu, Executive Director of the firm said.
The third child of her parents, Alima was born to Abdul-Aziz Atta, a former head of the civil service and permanent secretary who died in 1972 and Iyabo Atta, Alima Atta was said to have started the PR company right in her mother’s house back in 2002.
The popular and award winning writer, Sefi Atta is one of her sisters and apart from being listed as the treasurer of the PRCAN, Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria at the time of her death, she was noted to be a visionary and driven CEO who expertise and ideas will be missed by the Nigerian PR industry.
Also the host of TalkBiz on Smooth 98.1fm, she was named one of Nigeria’s ‎100 most influential women recently. Her last post on Twitter, where she tweeted through @alleycat40s was on May 6, 2015 is about the late coming habit of American music star, Lauryn Hill
