Many were thinking prior to Nigeria’s 2015 elections that if either of the two gladiators – President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan or General Muhammadu Buhari would lose, the heavens would fall and there will be trouble as Nigeria will boil. But see how President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan just doused the tension by his brisk and wise concession to the consternation of even those who would have taken arms to defend him. He placed his country above his personal interest. To ensure a lasting peace in Nigeria, he got his party to withdraw two pre-election cases against the President-Elect from the law court. What a peace maker!
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has set a shining example for other world leaders, especially the sit-tight leaders in Africa, to emulate. It really shows how great the man Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is and his action deserves the praise of all people of goodwill.
I commend him for his courage and extraordinary spirit of sportsmanship as the only African incumbent president accepting the outcome of an election. By these noble acts, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as an embodiment of peace, deserves the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize. Only time will tell.
