Reddit users discovered a bug that locks people out of the Messages app and forces iPhones to reboot when they receive a specific string of English and Arabic characters in a text.

The message is highly specific, so it’s likely to just be used for prank purposes. According to The Verge, the effect is undone if the sender texts another message, or if the recipient logs into a Mac and open the conversation and send another reply. The recipient could also ask Siri to send a reply.
