This is according to Rob Shepherd of the Mail on Sunday who, in his weekly Football Grapevine, claims the Bundesliga behemoth are to add a ‘fourth dimension’ to the race for Bale during the summer transfer window.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are the other three clubs supposedly pursuing Bale, and it would represent quite a coup if Bayern are able to fend off interest from this trio of Premier League giants.Shepherd reports that battle shall commence upon the conclusion of the season and that, despite this interest from Bayern, it is still Manchester United who are the club most likely to acquire the Wales international.
Manchester United, it is claimed, would be prepared to surpass the world record fee Madrid paid Tottenham for Bale in the summer of 2013 by offering £100 million in an attempt to bring the 25-year-old to Old Trafford.
