Two young men believed to be members of the youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Bayelsa State, almost lost their lives when they were attacked and injured seriously by some thugs alleged to be supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC), on Sunday, November 22, at Agudama-Ekpetiama in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement released by the Director of Publicity, Restoration Campaign Organization, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite:
"The youths were attacked by the APC thugs led by one Weri Digifa, a well known thug in the area loyal to the former deputy governor, Werinipre Seibarugu.
Digifa mobilized his thugs under the cover of darkness, supported by three armed soldiers who acted as his bodyguards, as they pounced on the defenseless members of the PDP, shortly after the campaign team of the governor left the community at the weekend.
The injured members are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital."
