NYSC Corps Members Recruited For Prostitution In Minna, Who’s The Pimp?

Emerging report has it that female Corps members of the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, serving at Minna, Niger state capital, are being recruited for prostitution.
According to Daily Independent, a certain association in Minna consisting of elitist groups and individuals, assisted by some NYSC officials approve the cartel’s requests to send some female NYSC members to a particular government agency.
It was learnt that some of the female corpers couldn’t resist the temptation as they were offered to be posted at the Government House and other mouth-watering incentives in exchange for sex.
It was further gathered that the female Corps members selected by the cartel from the Paiko NYSC camp were always posted to serve in the Protocol Department, Government House to cover their tracks.
As a way of rewarding the girls, parties to celebrate birthdays by each of them are organised if they wished, end of their service year is usually celebrated for them as they are quickly replaced with new intakes almost immediately by the cartel, the source said.
Reacting to the developments, the NYSC coordinator in Niger state, Steven Ehoda-Adi, revealed that he had never heard of such recruitment in the camp.
Steven conceded, however, that the NYSC had little control over the corps members’ private life.
He said, “I am not aware of any cartel recruiting Corps members for the purpose of prostitution. I am rather shocked hearing that some of your colleagues, journalists are actively involved in this unholy act”.
