An unmanned drone suspected to be used on the counter-insurgency operation in the Northeast has crashed at Dumge village of Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State this afternoon, KSM News has learnt. Dumge is 30km northeast of Maiduguri.
A Niger Republic-based kidnapping syndicate has demanded the payment of $100, 000 as ransom for the release of its 15-year-old victim, Precious Okoro.
The victim’s father, Nwaigwe, explained that Precious was kidnapped around Songotedo, in the Ajah area of Lagos State, where she had boarded a commercial vehicle en route to her school in Ikenne, Ogun State.

Equality Now called the ruling a "monumental victory" for women and girls in a country which has one of the world's highest prevalence rates of FGM.
Dr Raslan Fadl was originally cleared of charges relating to the death of Soheir al-Batea but prosecutors appealed the verdict which was overturned on Monday, Equality Now said.
Fadl was sentenced by a court in Mansoura to two years in jail for manslaughter and three months for performing FGM, according to the group. His clinic was also ordered to close for a year.
A man has come forward to say he was responsible for the drone that crashed early Monday on the White House grounds.
A US official said the man made contact with the Secret Service after reports of the crash spread in the media. The man told the Secret
Service that he was using the drone recreationally and didn't mean to fly it over the White House.
The official said the operator of the drone is a Washington resident and that he's cooperating with investigators. Secret Service agents have begun interviewing other people to corroborate the man's story. The official said investigators don't currently have any reason to doubt the man's story.

Suspected Niger Delta militants on Friday raided fishing communities of Ikot Etuk Idung, Ute Antai and Ute Bramah in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, carting away valuables and raping their female victims.
A boat operator, Mr. David Bassey, told our correspondent in Ibaka, Mbo LGA on Monday that the militants, apart from raping the married women, also stole clothes, money and fish in the houses where they assaulted the women.
According to him, some militants, who have taken residences in Ikot Etuk Idung, attacked both passengers’ and fishing boats.
He explained that on Friday, the militants attacked a boat belonging to Ukap Peter, which was heading for Atabong.
He added that the militants did not only remove the 200 HP outboard engine, they also seized the boat, stole clothes, money, wrist watches and phone sets that were to be taken to Atabong for sale.
“Living in fishing communities in Mbo is like living in a war zone. Almost on weekly basis, the inhabitants are being attacked by sea pirates and militants.
“From Friday to Monday morning, residents of fishing communities have known no peace. These militants invade our communities with sophisticated weapons, raped married women and stole money and fish,” Bassey said.

Dreaded Islamists terrorist group Boko Haram have released over 200 women and children earlier captured in Yobe state. A security source in Damaturu told our reporter that the women and children were abducted early this month in Gujba and Katarko areas in the state. The freed women and children were among 250 persons; the sect abducted in the two areas. The source said the fighters are still holding several women and children abducted from the area. Boko Haram leaders did not explain why they freed the women and children.
The Katsina Police Command on Sunday dispelled rumour over the alleged murder of Malam Ballo Isyaku, Principal of Government College, Katsina, who released Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s certificate.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Aminu Sadiq, made the denial to newsmen in Katsina.
He said that the command had contacted top officials of the ministry of education and they confirmed that the principal was hale and hearty.
Sadiq said that the command had also contacted the Commissioner for Education, and the Zonal Director of education, who assured the police that the rumour was false.
“We are surprised to read the story online that the principal had been killed by unknown gunmen. “The command wish to state that the principal in question is currently organising a naming ceremony for a new born baby that came into his family.”
The PPRO called on the members of the public to disregard the publication as the handwork of mischief makers, adding that some disgruntled elements were out to cause disaffection among the residents of Katsina.
It will be recalled that the social media had been spreading the rumour that Isyaku had been assassinated by unknown gunmen for releasing the certificate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate. (NAN)
Two young girls, who went to farm in Iju in Akure North local government area of Ondo State on Saturday, have been found dead with their heads severed from their bodies.
One of the girls, it was learnt is a daughter to a policeman and the other, a daughter of one of the residents in the town. The girls, who were friends, went to the farm to help their parents fetch firewood.
The death of the teenagers has thrown the entire community into mourning with many people saying the two girls were allegedly killed by some suspected ritualists.
A source told reporters that the girls, named as Oyinkansola Owoeye and Folasade Bello, both of whom were aged 12, went to the farm on Saturday but did not return that day.
After waiting for several hours without the girls returning, the source narrated that their parents and other relatives organised a search party to look for them. Their lifeless bodies were later found by the road side.
The source added that there were machetes cuts all over their bodies and their blood had been drained away, heightening fears that the girls might have been murdered by ritualists.
The monarch of the town, the Okiti of Iju, Oba Amos Farukanmi, who confirmed the incident to New Telegraph on phone, said that such an experience had not occurred in the town before.

A woman was arrested after she used boys for her own pleasure.
Barbara Kirby, 36, of Leesburg, Florida, was accused of having sex with two minors.
Kirby, who is a divorced woman and mother to a 9-year-old boy, allegedly told her victims that “age is just a number” before taking advantage of them. She is also accused of threatening one of her victims, saying that she would kill him if he told anyone about the sexual abuse.
According to police, Kirby sexually assaulted two boys who are between the ages of 12 and 16. The alleged incidents took place on two different occasions.
In both incidents, the boys told police that Kirby invited them into her home and gave them a drink, which made them feel funny.
One child told police that after Kirby gave him the drink, he felt dizzy and fainted. When he awoke, he was undressed on her couch, and Kirby was performing sex acts on him.
The boy said that he was embarrassed. He got dressed and ran out of her home. He told his mother about the incident two days later. After meeting Kirby again, she threatened to kill him if he told anyone of the assault.
Kirby was arrested and charged with lewd battery on a minor and tampering with a victim. She is being held on $25,000 bail.
A Colorado teenager has been sentenced to prison for four years after she tried to board a plane to the Middle East to wage jihad.
Shannon Conley, 19, cried in federal court Friday as she told the judge she never meant to hurt anyone.
"I disavow these radical views I've come to know and I now believe in the true Islam in which peace is encouraged," she said.
But U.S. District Judge Raymond Moore was having none of it.
"I'm not going to take a chance with you," he said. "I don't know what has been crystalized in your mind. I'm still not sure you get it."
Shannon Conley, 19, was arrested at Denver International Airport in April as she tried to reach Syria to wage jihad.
Conley pleaded guilty in September to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist group. She was arrested five months earlier as she was boarding a flight overseas where she planned to marry in Syria an extremist she met online, she acknowledged.
She had trained as a nurse's aide and learned military tactics at the U.S. Army Explorers in Texas so she could help ISIS wage jihad, she told authorities.

"It's going really well, we've got loads of interest and we've booked it in with a lot of the music festivals and we're talking about doing some Irish ones as well. People were flabbergasted at the fact that I was in the van making crepes. People kind of have this thing 'Oh, he was in Westlife a few years ago and now he's making tea. It's my business and I love it, anything I get involved in I get involved 110%."
Mark says he hasn't given up on music yet though and is planning to launch a solo career. Westlife disbanded in 2011 after 14 years together. During their career, they notched 26 top 10 hits.
