61 Year Old Nigerian Woman Bags Degree In Biology


A 61-year-old Nigerian woman has found herself an internet sensation over her recent achievement, which was getting a degree in Biology.
The graduation photo of the Nigerian woman, was shared by her son on Twitter. Her son wrote;
“Congrats to my Momma for graduating with a Biology Degree at 61”

Project Manager of Premiere Music, Michael Odiong, said the sad incident occurred on Sunday, September 23. Ras Kimono died on Sunday June 1oth. He was 60 years old.

Kimono was said to have taken ill on Saturday on his way to the US. Friends rushed him to a hospital in Ikeja from where he was transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi were he died on Sunday morning. According to several biographical sketches, Kimono served a long apprenticeship on the Nigerian music circuit, experimenting with a number of styles, before making his late 80s breakthrough as a reggae singer. Together with his Massive Dread Reggae Band, Kimono released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 1989. Accompanied by the popular single, “Rum-Bar Stylee”, this revealed both a Jamaican and native African influence. Before he released his solo album, he was in a group called The Jastix along with Amos McRoy and Majek Fashek. Born in Delta State, Nigeria, he went to Gbenoba Secondary School, Agbor and later joined the legendary Jastix Reggae group, alongside Majek Fashek, Amos McRoy Jegg and Black Rice Osagie. He won several awards including the Nigeria Music Awards, Fame Music Awards and many more. More details soon

Banker who tortured wife to death remanded in prison

Olaoluwa Adejo has been arrested for allegedly torturing his own wife, Maureen, to deathA Lagos-based banker, Olaoluwa Adejo, who allegedly tortured his wife, Maureen, to death will spend the Yuletide season in prison as an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court ordered that he should be remanded in the Ikoyi Prison till February 28, 2018.

Punch reports that the order was handed down by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Adelaja, who also ordered the police to duplicate the case file and forward to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
The 32-year-old Adejo was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly torturing his wife to death at their residence in the Oworonshoki area of the state.

3 reported dead after amala meal

Three people have been reported dead after reportedly eating amala in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State on Friday, October 27.

Daily Post reports that the trio reportedly died from suspected food poisoning.
According to the reports, a source in town who pleaded anonymity, said about eight people consumed the meal.
The source added that four of them are still in the hospital, critically ill.
Daily Post reports that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Osun State General Hospital morgue at Asubiaro in Osogbo, for further medical investigation.
The Commissioner of Health in the state, Dr Rafiu Isamotu, when contacted over the case, said that there was no cause for alarm as all efforts are being geared towards finding out the real cause of the deaths.
He added that preliminary investigations indicate that the family members had been eating from the same yam flour in the past weeks and that the poison in the food could have been in the stew.

The young military officer who has been hailed as one of the best officers in the Army actually has a Nigerian mother and an Israeli father but grew up in Nigeria and sees herself more of a Nigerian than an Israelite.
Speaking on the website of IDF, Lt. Cohen said she grew up with stories of her father who served in the IDF as a soldier and had always dreamed of following in his footsteps, a dream which has come to pass today.

A man who is set to get married to his two fiancees on the same day has set the social media ablaze after he released the pre-wedding photos of himself and the two women who seem very contented as they prepare to say I Do to him at the same time.

The lucky groom, Daniel Etoroma, a native of Orie-Irri in the Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, according to a post made by one of his friends, MC Udeke, will be getting married to the two ladies on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
MC Udeke who also posted the pre-wedding photographs of the intending groom and his brides, said that Etoromi, also known as Akalaka, has done all the necessary rites and the much-anticipated marriage said to be the first of its kind in that parts, is set to attract a lot of crowds as the people look forward to it.

Nigerian man stabs 'brother' to death over money in Kenya

This Nigerian man murdered his compatriot over money in Kenya
A Nigerian man has been arrested by the police in Kenya for allegedly stabbing his compatriot to death following a business deal that went bad.
Kenya NTV reports that the middle-aged suspect stabbed the victim who was his friend and business partner, during an argument over money in Ruaka, a town in Kiambu County of Nairobi.
 
It was gathered that residents who responded to screams in an apartment on September 18, 2017, rushed to the scene and apprehended the culprit who had stabbed the deceased several times in the chest with a knife, and started beating him before he was saved by police.
He was taken to the Karuri Police Station while the deceased's body was taken to the Nairobi City Mortuary.
Neighbors described the two men who were often seen together, as secretive and reserved.

Some suspects arrested by the police in Lagos State for allegedly indulging in Yahoo Plus, have confessed that they make their victims, especially girls, either run mad, become sick or useless.

Total media reports that one of the suspected fraudsters identified simply as Hakeem, alias H-Funds, a 26-year-old university drop out, told the police that they use voodoo otherwise known as Yahoo Plus or Science to get money from their victims.

A magistrate court in Lagos on Thursday, August 3, 2017, arraigned 42 suspected homosexuals who were recently arrested at a hotel located at Owode Onirin.

Man in prison for hypnotizing, sleeping with 7 housewives

A Katsina Senior Magistrate Court has remanded a 40-year-old man, Sani Idris, in prison custody after he was arraigned for allegedly hypnotizing seven married women and having sex with them.

Daily News reports that Idris, a resident of Maska village in Funtua Local Government Area of the state, was accused of using charms to hypnotize the women and having sexual intercourse with them without their consent.

Police unmask female officer who helped Evans escape

A senior female police officer who allegedly aided the escape of suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, from police detention after he was arrested for armed robbery in 2006, has been arrested.

The Nation reveals that the identity of the officer who is now a Chief Superintendent of Police [CSP], identified only as Tina, was uncovered by a Special Investigation Panel (SIP) set up by  Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, to probe Evans’ 2006 arrest, transfer from Lagos State to Imo State and eventual release from detention without prosecution.

Recall that after Evans arrest on June 10, 2017, a senior police officer had told reporters that his team had arrested the suspect in 2006 following a bank robbery but was later transferred to the Imo State Police Command following the intervention of a female officer who claimed Evans was her brother.

Suspected Badoo Cult member burnt to death in Ikorodu [Graphic Photos]

It was the end of the road for a suspected member of the dreaded Badoo Cult gang after he was caught by residents of Igbo-Oluwo, Ikorodu, Lagos State, in the early hours of Friday, June 30, 2017.

According to a resident of the area who posted the gory story on the Ikorodu Ambassadors Facebook group, the suspect was stripped naked, given the beating of his life before he was set ablaze, despite pleas by elders to hand him over to the police for proper investigations.

iHarare reports that the octogenarian, Sekuru Tauzen Mujaji, from the Chipinge South in Zimbabwe, holds the record of having fathered the children from his wife and other women in a space of 43 years.
 
Mujaji of the Shangani tribe was born in 1930 and had traditional challenges that resulted in him only being able to have his first child in 1974 when he was 44.

2 Nigerian women convicted in the UK for defrauding 7 men

Grace Akintaro and Victoria Nwogu have been convicted of fraud in the UKTwo Nigerian women, Grace Akintaro, 24, and Victoria Nwogu, have been convicted after they were found guilty by the Woolwich Crown Court in the United Kingdom of being part of an online romance fraud which defrauded seven men into paying them over £100,000.

Daily Mail reports that Akintaro of Pettacre Close, SE28, pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud by false representation while Nwogu of Piedmont Road, SE18, pleaded guilty to one count of laundering £3,490 between April 29 and May 6, 2015, and will both be sentenced at the same court on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

12-yr-old street girl gives birth to baby at a dumpsite

The 12-year-old child motherA 12-year-old homeless street child who was abandoned by her parents on the suspicion of being a witch has reportedly given birth to a baby girl at a dumpsite in Akwa Ibom State.

According to a children charity organization run by a Danish  woman, Anja Ringgren Loven, Child's Right and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN), the girl had been living at a dumpsite in the state after her parents sent her out of the house following a revelation by a Pastor that she was a witch and responsible for their poverty.
